Spartan Superway Wheelchair Restraint
Senior Project
Project Work
Questions to solve
- · How will the mechanism keep the user complete secure without straps?
- · How will the forward and backward movement of the wheelchair be stopped while in transit?
- · What will be more efficient? An actuator or a hydraulic mechanism?
Meetings
Our group has not met
this week which has put us in a situation where I feel that we are behind.
Gerald Gardner, recommended by professor Furman, has not replied to our emails
so the team will go to the Superway workshop on Wednesday to meet with
professor Furman and discuss this matter. Additionally, the team realized we need
more data and sources to help us with the project and this problem must be
tackled this following week and cannot be delayed.

Next steps
The
next step to do is to meet with professor Furman so he can help us analyze and
clear out some questions that the group has. We have questions regarding the
space where the restraint system will be located at and if we need additional
information regarding the design of their pods. Also, we need to ask him when
our community partner will be back and what to have ready for when he is back.
